Elie has worked so hard on her Kindergarten reading books and was one of the first in her class to finish the set. Her teacher awarded her with this chapter book and she came straight home and read the whole thing by herself!
Emma is in that hard stage of sometimes needing a nap, sometimes doing okay without one, sometimes falling apart without one, and sometimes staying awake until 10pm when she does get one! At bedtime she has the lovely habit of getting out of bed several times and slowly sneaking toward us with her blanket over her head, as if we won't see her. She always wants her blanket, her water, her baby, a song, for me to rub her back and, of course, a hug and kiss. We try to cover all those bases the first time we tuck her in but....you know how it goes! But she sure is adorable when she finally goes to sleep!
I love when my girls play pretend together. Here Elie and Emma were playing school and Elie read the whole book!
We spent an awesome afternoon at the park as a family with a dollar-store baseball set. Marshall enjoyed his first real experience in the grass.
Emma rarely gives a real smile for my camera. This shot on Easter came from Jessica's phone.
Katelyn is always coming up with creative recipes and she is always wanting to take pictures with my old camera by herself (she let Elie take a turn here).
Boys will still be boys! We dropped in on our good friends the Hertels and played a little Wii Just Dance. Our girls have so much fun together and I love how goofy Steve and his best friend since childhood can always get.
Life is made up of so many small, wonderful moments and I find myself wishing I had a camera to capture them all the time. Sometimes I snap a shot and mostly I just tell myself to take a mental picture and treasure the moment in time. Life seems to go faster and faster and as we watch our children grow so quickly, I try to remind myself to recognize all the joy in the little things. We are so truly blessed!
